Teacher Aide

Strategic Kids is Hiring Teacher Aides! (Start Date: Wednesday August 5, 2026)


Location: Monterey, Seaside, Marina, Del Rey Oaks, and Sand City

Pay Rate: $21-$23 per hour

Employment Type: Part-Time


Schedule:


3-5 days per week, Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m.– 3:30 p.m. (4.5 - 7 hours per day)


Overview


We're hiring Teacher Aides to support K–12 students with disabilities in public and charter schools near the Monterey Peninsula. You’ll work directly with students in classrooms 1:1 and in small groups helping them succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.


Responsibilities


  • Provide individualized support to students with special education needs.

  • Assist teachers with classroom management and activities.

  • Ride the school bus with students as needed.

  • Support students TK-12th and Adult Transition (18-22 years old) as needed.

  • Use positive reinforcement and structured behavior management.

  • Collaborate with staff and families to implement student support plans.


Requirements


Must Have Requirements

  • At least 3 months of experience working or volunteering with children

  • Strong communication, patience, and positive reinforcement skills.

  • Ability to adapt to varying student needs and maintain composure under pressure.

  • High school diploma or equivalent (education students encouraged to apply).

  • CPR/First Aid certification (provided if needed).

  • Must be 18 years or older


Nice to Have

  • Students pursuing Education / Child development / Psychology coursework or degrees encouraged to apply

  • Experience in after-school programs, summer camps, tutoring, or youth mentoring

  • Bilingual communication skills
